Here’s My System Cleanup Checklist
With my 20 years of experience in this industry, I want to provide complete transparency regarding the steps I would take doing a System Cleanup.
Though I NO LONGER offer computer repair or remote support, my work is more thorough than most places. Please check out my Cleanup blog posts. You are welcome to read those and ask any questions. I do not provide tech support via email.
If a computer has signs of malware, these steps should be followed to bring it to a usable state long enough to backup data and either reset Windows or do a clean install. A compromised computer cannot be cleaned, it must be rebuilt.
Here's a bullet-point list of what I do during a System Cleanup, although certain items will be adjusted or added to suit your needs.
