How To Customize Firefox: Setting Things Up, Bookmarks, Extensions, Download Settings, and Resetting
I have created several posts related to Firefox, including settings I recommend changing after first installing it, backing up and restoring bookmarks, download settings, and refreshing (resetting) Firefox if things aren't working right.
This blog post should make it a little easier to find Firefox-related posts on this website. A dedicated "Firefox" category is also at the top of every page and post.
How To Setup Firefox
One option in settings I recommend changing is stopping (blocking) audio and video from playing automatically. My FREE blog post covers many more of the settings I recommend changing. Paid subscribers have access to a more detailed post.
Backup and Restore Firefox Bookmarks
The process of backing up your bookmarks in Firefox isn't as obvious as it should be, so my FREE blog post walks you through that. Paid subscribers can check out the more detailed version.
Download Settings in Firefox
The default download settings in Firefox are likely good enough for most people, but if you want to be given the choice of where files download, check out my Quick Tip on this topic.
Refresh (Reset) Firefox
Given that we use our web browsers nearly every day, things are likely to not work as they should once in a while. Back up your bookmarks, then I recommend "refreshing" Firefox to its default settings. Hopefully that resolves the issue you encountered that didn't have a more specific cause or fix.
