Hello! My name is Kevin! I live in Red Deer, Alberta, and previously lived in Lethbridge, Comox, Leduc, and other places growing up across Canada, as my Dad was in the Military.

I’ve been incredibly passionate about computers since I was 12 and have used every version of Windows since version 3.1 (yes, I know I’m dating myself there). I have a Network Specialist Certificate, but most of my knowledge is self-taught from real-world situations.

I watched and listened to TechTV back in the day. Since then I frequently watch and listen to video and audio podcasts (including TWIT.TV), audio books, as well as enjoying and learning from ITPro.TV. I also enjoy reading (mostly online articles and blog posts).

My first IT job out of college was working at a Dell Call Centre in Edmonton. After that, I was an IT contractor and self-employed for 5 years helping small businesses and residential clients remotely and in-person with their technology, and many more years on my own and helping friends and family.

My business, and this website, does not exist without YOU. I am incredibly and eternally grateful for YOU, and I will never lose sight of that.

I have had enough experiences, conversations with non-tech savvy folks, and visited enough websites to get a really good idea of the kind of information people want and how many like it to be presented.

Make no mistake, you can find many other websites that cover the same things I do, but my sincere hope is that you'll consider it an easy decision to check out my website and stick with it for when you need Quick Tips and other content will help you better understand and use your technology!

Many people find it frustrating to go to articles with ten different steps, even with screenshots, then realize you need to quickly memorize everything to go somewhere else on your computer to follow those steps and keep going back and forth.

So, please use this website on your laptop or tablet, and follow along with the steps (I strive for as few as possible) on your computer. Alternatively, a second monitor might be a possible option.

Meet Nala

She’s my Office Assistant. She’s a bit shy, and it takes time to earn her trust, but she’s friendly, and she has a Queen personality, so she does things only if SHE wants to. She’s 9 years old. She’s more curious than anything, and she never bites, but she sometimes nibbles playfully. If she’s in the mood, she tends to say hello, then she’ll go do her own thing again.

She likes a quiet home, but appreciates some activity, playing with her toys, a few things happening, and occasionally new people. It keeps her from getting bored too often.

She has lived in a few places in her short life so far, but she has settled very well here, where she will stay for the rest of her life.

She enjoys getting attention, napping, playing, or looking out the windows.
