Quick Tip: How To View Your Hardware Specs
In this blog post, I’m going to talk about and walk you through how to take a look at your computer’s hardware specs. You can see a simple or detailed list, depending on the tool you use.
There are multiple ways to see what specifications (specs) of your computer are.
In any version of Windows, right click “Computer” or “My PC” on the desktop or in the Start Menu and and choose “Properties”.
In Windows 10, the “About” page will come up, as shown to the left. you can see the most important specs in this window.
If you need more detailed specs, you can go into System Information via the Start Menu, or download a program like Belarc Advisor.
System Information
Here you can see what System Information looks like on my computer. Quite a bit more detail here, and for the most part, a lot more than you’ll ever need or want to know.
These details are more for computer troubleshooting by trained technicians, or if they (or I) need you to look up a very specific piece of information. But I can look this up remotely.
To access System Information, the easiest method is to open your Start Menu and type “System Information”. Windows should correctly guess what you’re looking for, and you can click the result to open it.
Belarc Advisor
Belarc is also system inventory software. There is a FREE version. It presents the information a bit differently, and more detailed depending on what you’re looking at compared to System Information. You can download Belarc HERE.
I hope this helps as you locate your hardware details (specs). I’ll be doing many more quick videos and blog posts like this, so please like, subscribe, and hit the bell if it suits you to let me know you want to see more content like this!
