Kevin’s Picks: ExpressVPN

This time, my Quick Pick is ExpressVPN (affiliate link)! There are a few important reasons to use a VPN, and yes, I absolutely recommend paying for a VPN. If you’re not paying for the VPN, you (your data) is the product and nothing stops them from selling it beyond their word.

I have tried a couple of them, and I’m loving ExpressVPN! It’s so easy to use, and it’s affordable!

You may want to use a VPN program when you’re connecting to a free WiFi network, if you want to watch something on a streaming service that has content only available in certain countries, and other reasons.

When you’re connected to a VPN server location in another country, it makes your location appear to be in that city.

The great thing about ExpressVPN is the incredibly fast speeds. Some other VPN services throttle down for a variety of reasons. You don’t want that.

You can choose VPN server locations in many countries, including the US, which has the most to choose from.

When you go into the Settings, you can do things like have ExpressVPN disable your internet connection if the connection to the VPN server you’ve chosen disconnects, and perhaps you’re not in front of your computer when it happens.

This is great in situations like when you’re using public WiFi, because anyone within range of the network, could in theory, snoop and grab information being sent over that network, and that’s a problem when it’s private information.

You can also enable Chrome and Firefox extensions to only surf the internet while using ExpressVPN, and have it always turned on when doing so.
