System Cleanup Series: Driver Booster

2023-08-18 16_37_40-Window

In this FREE blog post, I will walk you through the basics of using Driver Booster from IOBIT. They offer FREE and PRO versions. I strongly recommend the PRO version, particularly for the ability to upgrade multiple drivers at once before restarting your computer.

This blog post is part of my System Cleanup series. My aim is to be as transparent as possible in terms of my process during the work I'll do on your computer either remotely or in my home office, as I cannot cover everything during the initial 15-minute Zoom or phone call.

Various hardware manufacturers release many drivers each month, and Driver Booster does a much better job of keeping them up to date than what Microsoft offers through Windows Update.

Paid subscribers have access to a more detailed guide. Some premium blog posts also include an AI audio overview, and other perks. Please support my work for $5 per month.

Would you like blog posts like this in the form of a book with various related blog posts (Windows 11, etc)? I am working on that! I am considering options such as crowdfunding via Unbound.com, or Amazon self-publishing.

Meanwhile, you can easily print this blog post by using Reader Mode, then saving and printing the whole post or part of it as a PDF. More details in this ComputerWorld article.

Open Driver Booster and click "scan".

Driver updates will very likely be listed. In the FREE version, you can ONLY update one at a time.

To install the driver, click the big red "Update Now" button or each "Update" button.

That driver will then be downloaded. This might take a few minutes.

Then, the driver will be installed. Again, this might take a few minutes.

Once the driver(s) are updated successfully, you'll see this screen with a few options. I recommend cleaning up invalid driver data, which means downloaded install files that are no longer needed and take up valuable space.

The drivers on your computer are now up to date!
