QT-Win-10-Notifications-1

In this Quick Tip, I will show you how to access and disable or enable certain notifications for each app, program, and even certain things in Windows itself.

Notifications can be both helpful and annoying, depending on how they’re set up. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by a constant stream of pop-ups or wished certain apps would let you know when something important happens, you’re not alone.

The good news is that Windows gives you control over which notifications you see and hear. Let me walk you through how to access these settings and fine-tune notifications for apps, programs, and even Windows itself.

Under “Notifications”, there’s a catch-all switch to disable ALL notifications.

Below that, there are a few checkboxes for things like “Show notifications on the lock screen”, “Show reminders and incoming VoIP calls on the lock screen”, “Allow notifications to play sounds”, and more.

Under “Get notifications from these senders”, you can turn on or off notifications from each specific app or program that is able to give you notifications. This includes your web browsers, Settings in Windows itself, and more.

Taking control of your notifications can make a huge difference in how you interact with your computer. Whether you want to cut back on distractions or ensure you don’t miss important updates, the notification settings in Windows give you plenty of flexibility.

Spend a few minutes exploring these options and customizing them to your preferences—it’s worth it.
