Prevent iPhone Account Changes with a Screen Time Passcode
No matter who has access to your iPhone or iPad, whether it’s someone you know, or a complete stranger in an airport looking over your shoulder, if they know or can figure out your iPhone passcode, and they get a hold of your device, they can make account changes to your Apple account!
In this video, Aaron Zollo walks you through how to enable a Screen Time passcode, which prevents account changes even if someone knows your iPhone passcode!
Normally, I would record my own video, but why reinvent the wheel? He does a great job explaining it.
In this blog posts, I’ll walk you through this process as well.
You’ll get a quick explainer about what Screen Time can do. Click on “Turn On Screen Time”.
You will be asked if Screen Time is being setup for yourself or your child. Choose “This is My iPad”.
Enter your NEW Screen Time pass code. This is different from your iPad or iPhone pass code.
If you forget your Screen Time pass code, you can use your Apple ID to reset it. Enter your Apple ID email address.
You can now leave Settings and come back to it. You wil see that your Account Details at the top left are greyed out. When you need to access your Account, you will need to turn off Screen Time first, do what you need to do, then turn it back on.
