Not Seeing Any Ads on This Website? There Aren’t Any. Here’s Why.
I had originally intended to have ads on the free areas of this website simply to encourage people to sign up for a paid subscription, where ads wouldn't show up across the site.
I set up Google Adsense the best I could, including only showing ads from specific categories that would be a good fit.
But given the examples I am showing in this blog post, I'm just not happy with the ads or how the ads were being displayed, and cluttering up my site.
That is NOT the experience I want for people, so I have turned them off. My sincere hope is that visitors to this website will appreciate what I'm offering here and want to either send me the equivalent of a coffee, or become a paid subscriber for $5 or $10 per month to support my work.

The ads being displayed even went as far as to break elements of pages and posts. "Recent Posts" should be at the top right of the post, NOT below the post.
Also, I don't recognize or recommend these products. I know what a VPS is, but that audience will not likely visit my site.
Here's an example of strange ads displayed among posts on specific category pages. Unacceptable on both counts.

At the top of category pages, I noticed a large spaces intended for ads, but none were displayed at that moment. That's not a good look.
I really don't like the tech support ad (?) at the top of the page in this example, and I certainly don't want to encourage that anyone contact them and potentially be scammed!
I also don't like the look of the banner ads that were being displayed.

I am VERY disappointed with Google for implementing ads in this way. They don't seem to know what they're doing at all anymore, never mind how they've ruined search results.
So, at least for now, ads have been removed from my site until I can figure out better ways to do that. If enough people are willing to become paid subscribers, I should be able to avoid ads. I'd love to avoid ads. I know you hate ads. Please support my work to avoid ads. Thank you.
