Kevin’s Picks: TeraCopy

This time around, I'm going to mention a file transfer program I use from time to time called TeraCopy. It has a FREE version that I strongly recommend, particularly in situations where you are copying and pasting large amounts of data. TeraCopy works very well for that and is more reliable than the copy-and-paste feature built into Windows.

TeraCopy has many more features that I honestly haven't used yet, so I recommend checking those out. I also encourage you to purchase a license for TeraCopy to support them.

I recently retired a hard drive I used for backups and moved that data to my Network Attached Storage device (NAS)—hundreds of gigabytes of data that took a few hours to transfer. TeraCopy really came in handy for this, and transfers data faster than the feature built into Windows. Windows file transfer tends to become unreliable with large amounts of data, whereas TeraCopy doesn't seem to have a problem.
